Satellite radio needed

I am now very impatient to get an MP3 player... which is why I got the bottom of the line radio in my new car. BUT... I will wait until it has Sirius (preferably) or XM Satellite radio built in. Heck, who even cares about AM & FM with that option?

And price.. Kenwood is way out of line. It should be inthe $300 range.

BTW, I like the look of the existing pic on your site. It looks simple. Remember, we're driving here. Let me put a MPCD in and let it play. Thats it.

I want my mp3 player right now!!!
but I dont like the Premade ones that are out now (AIWA, Kenwood) so I just got a real cheap radio in my car to tide me over until the ones that I want some out. The ones I want are going to have a satelite reciver builtin to the head unit.
Ohh yeah I want it to be a cheap player also.

simple = I dont want GPS/Movies/DVD/Vizulations/ whatever also I just want something I can stick in my DIN slot where I just pulled out my cheap headunit and then I can just put the cd of leet tunez I D/L off of Napster and burned to a cd with my HP burner

ok did that make it any easyer to understand ?

Topperge runs all this post through babelfish and comes out with the answer:

XM is a new technology where you can listen to hundreds/thousands of radio stations created by either XM or paying royalties and starting your own. Starting this year all the standard radios from Ford will have this function built in and you get a pay an extra $100 for it without even an option. XM will have a monthly subscription fee in which you can pay to access their satellite service. The only reason I know this is because my prof in my telecomm class last semester thinks this is the new wave of radio and spent a month talking about it, I went to one of those classes and this is all I remember

To get some good information go to www.siriusradio.com or check out Visteon. I have heard that Visteon is developing the chipset/radio combination for SDARS (Sat radio). Like their competitor, Sirius intends to have a full network of terrestrial repeaters across the country to enhance the reception in areas where the Sat signal might fail or be weak. Also, I think that Sirius already has all 3 of their birds flying where XM has yet to launch. The future is bright for digital radio whether MP3 or satellite.......
