Post best indash cd player?

What is the best indash cd player out now? Or a few reputable ones. They need to either have tape deck or aux-in. My stock stereo just cant cut it anymore. thanks,
dave

cmon, anyone out there? I was thinking awia cdcz117 , it has aux input. The only problem is it doesnt have preamp outputs, which I might want in the future for subs. Can anyone recommend anything else? (btw i found the awia for $100 w/free install at good guys)

Question

Best??? hehehe...you probably dont want the best...you probably want good...how much do you want to spend?? But if you do want the "best", your looking at around $1000 for just the receiver from Clarion, Kenwood, or Pioneer (all my personal preferences). Alpine has a high-end unit too, but Im just not a fan.

Yeah, "best" was the wrong choice of words. Heh, I bought a $130 Aiwa unit, detachable face, aux-input, 2pairs of rca preouts, 45w x 4, seems rockin so far, but ive only had it for a total of 20 minutes

You're all wrong =)

Best, best for what?

Best sound / playback: Nakamichi
Best features: Pioneer AVM-P7000 w/ AVM-P9000 master unit
Best looks: Your opinion

Clarifies a bit for ya?

Ha Ha... You guys are funny, this is just another case of personal opinion! The only post so far with any logic to it was saying that the nak reciever was the best... It might not be the best but it has a 20 bit D/A and sounds much better than most!

Actually, the Nakamichi _is_ the best at reproduction / playback. They have models that greatly surpass any other DIN-sized cd player.

Personally, I don't like the features or the interface, but I can't argue with the figures.

The local audio store where I lived used to deal AIWA. Then they had almost 75% of them return broken. So they quit. The only first hand experience I have had with them is a friend had one which preamp outputs went bad, then later the whole system went down.

I have had good luck with Blaupunkt head unit both the Neveda series and Key Largo (currently using) they have a cable the plugs into the cd-changer and gives you RCA in (left and right channels) or one that gives you a 1/8th stereo plug (what I use). Both units work great and soon I will be selling my Neveda (got to find the book and remove tools and stuff for it first) probably will try to sell it for around $150 (was $300 new a year ago)

Because I am bored I am going to add my own two cents to this string....

For my money I would go with an ECLIPSE head unit. I myself don't own one, but they have some high quality stuff.
