Anyone integrate a fingerprint scanner?

Has anyone ever used a fingerprint scanner or a card reader to authenticate people for their CarPC? I was thinking about it and you could use it like an immobilizer. There's a few things you'd have to work around like making it kill the ignition and having the computer running before you start the car. It's pretty impractical the longer I think about it but it'd be pretty cool

I got the idea just because we're integrating theese fingerprint scanners and casi-rusco card readers into this device here at work and it was fun to just walk up and scan my id card and log in. We're still working on the software for the fingerprint scanner though. Just curious if anyone's ever tried it.

Been talked about allot. Do a search, and ye shall find.

Basically, if you want to restrict access to your computer, then it is great. However, to integrate the scanner into the comouter, and thereby grant/deny access to your car, or to start the car, you throw in allot of problems, like, Computer crashes disabling your car, starting the computer before you get into it, or even before you approach the car, if it will grant/deny access to the car, not just the starter.

Just way to many issues.
