Hey E46ers...Need your help/opinion!!

Hey E46ers. I see everyone with these beautiful setups with the custom bezels etc., but I'm curious. Now that yo removed the factory head unit, how do you get to use;

1. Blue tooth phone interface
2. BMW Assist
3. Steering Wheel buttons

I've become quite attached to these features and it appears they all depend on leaving the factory head unit installed. Is this true? Can I circumvent this issue without a degree in electronics? The idea behind having a well constructed carputer/screen setup is to make it appear oem. To do this, it would seem one might like to integrate some of the cool BMW features they paid for. What do you think?

yeah, remove the factory stereo head unit that the bluetooth phone setup, and the BMW Assist feature (onstar) function through. Is it possible to program the steering wheel controls for use with a carputer setup? how?

1. Install phoco, and a USB blue dongle and you have bluetooth interaction with your phone.

2. Not sure what that does, please expand (maybe thinking this is an OBDII thing)

3. The steering wheel buttons can be used with a PC, search for IBUS and CDRSKULL.
