In the market for new/used car:: which is the most easiest car for carputer installs?
Hi all
I am in the market for a new/slightly used car and I want this car to be most carputer friendly. I mean that although the setup is good enough in my current ride, I am looking for a car in which the screen will be mounted at a higher level, like the new G35, or any new car for instance which has navigation pkg built in it. I am also thinking of searching for a used car with a non-working navigation pkg as this would be the easiest to install in.
what do you guys suggest. or is there any other thread in which this has been discussed,
thank you
mk

I'm not really sure, but giving a price range you are willing to buy in would probably be a great help.

I think its not so much as whats the easiest install (like ease of body panels coming off, routing of wires etc) as it is important placement of the LCD.
Glare sucks on carputer LCDs, so if you have a choice in cars, see where you could put one, and decide on the best car that way perhaps?

A double DIN is a nice thing to have. It will make the installation of a screen much easier.

You might want to consider a used 2nd generation CRV, from years 2002-2004. Check my posts, a mobo fits under passenger seat (there is a drawer, perfect size) and there is a front/upper double din that begs for a screen.
The 2005 model and later has some additional equipment under the passenger seat, so the drawer is gone.
