That slot load looks soooooooooo tempting, if it would only boot up properly with my EPIA board

why won't it boot with your epia? i have the same mobo as you and i have a panasonic slot load working fine

The board will not detect a CD/DVD Rom when it boots up conneced via USB. When I ran into the problem I read about it on Via Arena and then several posts on this forum about it. If you plug it in AFTER XP boots no problem.

OK I purchased the DVD/CD Panasonic .... it was just too good to pass up, if it does not work you owe me 88 bucks!

Bah something to play with for a couple of weeks anyway.

I've got the VIA MII 10000 mobo too, and just purchased one of these slot DVD drives.

studmonk3y: you will owe people a lot of money if these dont work with our motherboard.
