ANL fuse install

Dumb question , I did a quick search….could find my answer…Getting ready to run wires in the car.
My question, I have ANL fuse holder with 4G cable…how do I terminate the cable onto the fuse holder.
Do I have to solder the cable on either end? It fits tight and unless I pull on it

The majority of ANL fuse holders have screw terminals, so there should be some kind of screw to terminate the wire.

unscrew the plasitc things
slide them on the cable
feed the cable into the holder
tighten down the screw (usually an allen wrench is needed)

The unscrewed piece in the last photo is hollow right?

Feed the wire through the part that is unscrewed in the last photo. Put enough bare wire through so that you can spread it out and push it around the sides of the metal piece, but still have the wires below the threads. Then screw the piece into the fuse holder. Tightening the threaded piece will push it against the wire that is now around the tip of the piece, and against the rest of the fuse holder.

Remember to slide the plastic cover onto the wire before you do any of this, or else you won't be able to put it on later.

That's a compression fit, all I use. Much more secure and better conductivity than set screws.

Just feed the exposed wire through and fold down the strands over the recess above the threads as donde says. The wrench flats are there for a reason, make it tight.

It's actually a pretty cool idea monster cable and some other battery terminal makers use it. Never seen it on a fuse holder basically it's supposed to give you a stronger connection because it's evenly compressed. Tusami makes battery topper for optima batters using the technology. They had a video at one time of them swinging the battery from their topper using this type of connection.

Basically strip like 3/4 off of the wire. Place it in the grommet or whatever you want to call it through the hex end. Then you fold the wire evenly back around inner piece all around the whole ring. So when you thread it up it's pinching the wire you've folded over against the inside of the female portion of the fuse holder for a compression type grip.

I think i have a terminal in my car audio box i'll take a picture if you want.
