anyone know how to repair a XMD1000?

I just bought mine from circuitcity, made the cable, and then put it all together. As soon as I powerd the powersupply the unit xm unit started smoking... I pulled the cable apart and realized that I did a poor job or soldering the ground. While this unit is free to me (MIR), I was just wondering if anyone knew a repair method for this or if its another dead peice of hardware for me to have laying around.

Not to be a complete ***, but i'd return it if you just bought it. Circuit City tends to be pretty lax on their returns. Just say it was defective and smoked when you plugged it in. They have no way to test it, and even if they did, they'd see it's dead.

Just make sure you fix your wiring for the next one.

(Btw, I used to do car audio installation in CC)
