What exactly do i want from my deck?

For the moment, i just wanna buy a deck so that i can play MP3s and have sat radio. A few months down the road though, i wanna buy a display, carputer, etc, mainly for the nav, but also to play DVDs, have a huge hard disk for MP3s, etc. Now, from the deck i'm about to buy, what exactly do i want? Do i care if it plays DVDs, or am i gonna use the carputer for that? Do i just buy any deck i like that's within my budget, or do i have to look for something really specific, so that i don't have to switch decks once i buy the carputer? The deck i was thinking of getting is this one:

That is a decent headunit. It is an aux input for your computer which you will need. Save yourself over $200 and buy from here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=39752

Thanks BTW, i'm assuming this is the case, but will i be able to get XM NavTraffic (live XM traffic updates that get intorgrated into nav) to work with the carputer?

Hasn't happened yet as far as i've heard. No computer-based nav software has anything written to support it, and I don't know if anyone has even explored how to connect it.

Even though Pioneer is a great brand (see my sig), it doesn't come with an Aux-in adapter. You have to buy one (CDR810) for like $30. Look at the Sony f7715X or Panasonic CQC8401U (or the step below). Those a great HU's and come with Aux in already.

Get an alpine deck. Think mine is a 9805 and only thing it doesnt have it mp3 playback, but i think it was the next unit up and it only cost me like 150 from like etronics, 3 years ago. Love the deck, 3 preouts, aux in....
