How to get RSS

Can someone please enlighten me, what is this RSS thing, I know this site has it, I went to some site that deals with RSS, I gather it is some thing like news feed or some sort of broadcast.
I downloaded some SW but for the life of me I can't get any thing, can I just use FireFox to get RSS or a dedicated program is required.

Any one wants to spoon feed me. I am lazy to and

Get the RSS Feed extension for Firefox. It will add links in favorites to RSS feeds you subscribe to.

I'm not going to tell you what RSS is or how to use it or what its for. You do need to look that up on your ow, lazy-***.

Ok, OK, got my lazy-fat-*** to wizard rss site, downloaded the extension. For the life of me, I can't (or don't know how to) add mp3car RSS. it claims that mp3car is invalid url. went back, read all the FAQs, no dice, the FAQs are geared towards someone who already know how to add channels but looking for trouble shootings.

OK, homework done , now, how to add mp3car as channel?

I have a little orange icon on the right side of the bottom statusbar in Firefox. If I click that, I can add a live bookmark to the page's feed. In fat the tooltip says Add Live Book Mark For Page's Feed.
Imagine that!

if you don't know what it does, you don't need it.
