Installation Rant

I just need to get this out to people who actually understand what this is like.

I finaly got all the parts for my car pc together after it died several months ago, and rebuilt it. i had it working on my desk for 3 days perfectly while i installed software and media, the touchscreen which is molded into my center console is also on my desk and works perfectly. I go out and install everything back into the car, power it up, and blank screen!! check the wires on going from the trunk to the front with my laptop and they are fine. i have no idea whats going on that would make it all not work in the car but be perfect inside. im pulling the whole thing back inside tomorrow to troubleshoot more.

Something had to have gotten jarred or whatever (when you checked the wires going from trunk to front did you check they actually work, or just that they were fully plugged in).. hopefully it's an easy diagnosis/fix. Good luck man.

i hooked up everything up to the laptop and it worked the way it was supposed to, so its something in the computer itself. if i didnt need the laptop i would just leave it in the trunk at this point.

could be your psu is not compatible, details on mobo/cpu and psu?

im running an inverter for the computer, it worked fine for the previous computer

Try starting the car and see if that works.

ok, im not entirely sure what made it finally work, but i pulled the whole computer out and set it up on the front seat, and then tried to boot it several times, wiggling different components, reseting CMOS, stuff like that. eventually the screen lit up and the computer started, everything is working properly. i ran an extension cord out to the car for the system to test things, and have run it on the inverter. Thanks for everyones help.
