800x480 VERIFIED and working......

I have FINALLY figured out how to get the SP13000 to do the 800x480

You will need this: http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/ma.../downloads.jsp

Download the latest BIOS and flash utilty.

Now the fun part............

You need to make a bootable CD and inlcude on it the Flash and Bios.....

This is what I did.....
you need this....http://www.nu2.nu/download.php?sFile=bbie10.zip

Goto the website listed in the link to get directions....

extract the boot information from a bootable cd....you are on your own here....

Now you need Record now from Roxio or equivilent.....

Create a Boot CD in your CD burning program and add the Flash and Bin program to the CD as well.

Boot the system and run the flash utility.....
It will not allow you to save the old Bios.....no biggie.

When done reboot and WALA...........you now have 800x480 and it looks REALLY sharp....

It fixed alot of problems I was having with video in MCE2005.......

Hope this helps......

I think you could make those instructions a hell of a lot easier by simply saying, "flash your bios with the newest version using a floppy"

OH REALLY?????

and where do you suppose you are going to hook that floppy up?????

No floppy controller and most recommend against a USB solution for doing such things as BIOS updates......

oh by the way, CN400, KM800 and CLE266 are VERY similar chipsets as regards to graphics subsystem. AFAIK there is one driver for all these chipsets for Linux and X. Also, WinXP drivers have VERY similar revisions (16944421 for CN400 and 16944411 for CLE266). Anyone dare to try extracted SP1200 videoBIOS on M10K?

Hey, the more instructions the better for everyone.. even if 75% of the ppl can flash their BIOS, it helps the rest.

Anyone confirm this yet?

It is confirmed? that was the purpose of the thread.....

This is a great resource for the most part but I got to tell you that some of the cynicism on here gets old.

The :search ****es me off to. I am very aware of how to search but there are so manyy hijack posts on here that no matter what you use for a search phrase you get back 29392327382 results......

Sorry for venting but I just had to. I write software and build much more powerful systems than a carputer for a living so suffice to say that I am not stupid but no matter who comes on here as a new poster you seem to treat people like idiots.....

A confirm would be a second person getting it to work, not the original poster insisting that it does work..
