Cool. I'm liking Pandora, espicially since it doesn't require IE. The router looks neat too.

It goes as far as the WiFi will reach. Wifi actually goes pretty far outside, a lot further then it works indoors.

I did some more tests with it today and whatever Internet concession problems I had yesterday went away. I also tried downloading a large file in the background and still got around 25k/sec while moving.

I love that it works with a USB phone. If you get a PCMCIA card (or a PDA phone), Sprint makes you pay /MB charges (unless you get the really expensive unlimited plan). This is why I have always stuck with a normal phone so I can get unlimited internet for $15/mo over USB. I'm looking at upgrading to the Samsung A900 (aka: Blade) for the EVDO and BlueTooth support.
This is a cool device, but for my CarPC I'd rather just have a tiny BlueTooth USB dongle connect to my phone giving me unlimited EVDO internet for $15/mo (which you have to pay anyway if you want to be able to get the pictures off your camera phone).

Yeah, but if you use this thing with verizon, you're gonna get nailed. Their "unlimited" is hardly unlimited...

VR4: what plan are you using to get unlimited EVDO for $15/month??? I thought they only had $50/month + voice plan for unlimited EVDO?? I'm on Cingular now and am trying to decide whether to 1) wait for the next wave of 3G (HDSPA) WM5 PDA Phones that will be coming out later next year, 2) just get the HTC Universal PDA Phone with EDGE support that will be on Cingular in a few weeks, or 3) switch to Verizon and get the EVDO version of the HTC Universal when it's released. I like having a GSM device though since I travel to Europe and elsewhere a few times a year.

One thing about the KR1 is that it takes about 70 seconds to boot up and connect before the Internet connection will work. It's not that big of a deal, but it sucks haven't to wait that long for music when getting in the car and driving off without any music for more then a minute.

If they do, take it up with them. Not right to be adverstising unlimited when there are unspoken limits...

Everything I’ve read says it only works with EVDO PCMICA cards and EVDO phones via the USB port. I don’t have an EDGE card to test with.

It's $15 for unlimited vision / power vision (EVDO). That is in addition to any voice plan you want (if the cheapest is $35/mo, then yes, it would cost you $50 if you never wanted to use it as a phone). My point is that I always have my cell phone with me. To get pictures off a camera phone (and to use the web on it for google local, games, ringers, etc.) I have to spend the $15 anyway. Therefore I have internet in my car (as long as my cell phone is connected via USB or BlueTooth) for free as far as I'm concerned.
