Hey

Based in hamilton here. Using Garmin Mobile PC with a DSE usb receiver. Using garmins maps now, but have been playing with maps from NZ Open GPS which is a free map replacement for NZ and updated regularly and since NZ maps are so damn expensivefrom garmin.

Having trouble getting GMPC embedded into centrafuse so If anone has had an luck...

NZ Open GPS

I got a generic GPS usb receiver and am using nroute still trying to decide about mobile PC

and the free open source maps for nz are here

as for the hardware i can get most of it wholesale in nz, including itx cases and car PSU's
and i have a few contacts overseas now for stuff too

Another NZ'er here, based in Auckland. I'm using GMPC too. Glad to see a few of us are doing carputers, I was started to think people in NZ weren't up to play with this sort of thing.
