At a loss here ?!?!

Hi been on here for a few months looking at peoples installs and so on whilst doing mine, i finaly had it all nice and wired up ok in the car then i had to go to irland with work left the car at the airport. when comming back the slimlind dvd drive broke, thought nothing of it bought a new one, then i could hear the ignition though the speakers tryed to reground it and now the damn thing killed my battery and only turns on when it wants to, so im gonna start again, this time i want to put the install in where my spare wheel should be, but this is where the problems begin, a friend told me that i couldnt as i want to replace my cd player with the dvd drive he said that there is no cable long enough to do this and also no cable long enough for the touch screen, so my BIG question is, is this true or is there cables long enough for me to do this? please help me been pulling my hair out all day thanks

Touch screen is USB, you can get an extension. (My PC is in the boot and the screen obviously is in the dash and works fine.)

Search for USB to IDE converters for the DVD drive or try and get a USB to start with and then again use an USB extension.
