Would this fuse be easily replaceable, or would i have to take it to BMW (assuming this is the case)?

If the fuse is blown, would i be able to attach a jumper cable and pop my trunk?

My best guess is no.

Thanks anyway for the help. I guess the only thing i can do now is wait for the AAA guy to try and jump start it. If nothing happens, i'll check the fuse. If the fuse is fine, then i'll have to get the jaws of life to rip my trunk lid off....either that or break my tail light and try and reach cord they put in there for when you kidnap people and put em in your trunk.

bonnet=hood, yes

negative = engine block, there normally is a alrge ring bit sticking up at the front of the block.

that's the plan.

I've had to do this a few times when my battery has gone flat. And they key was too worn to work the lock.

Definitions of deck lid on the Web:

* The term that is used for the trunk lid of a race car.

* Also known as the trunk lid.

I'm guessing the sudden loss of power is due to a blown fuse, the fuse box should be either under the hood or somewhere under the dash, i don't have a BMW so i don't know exactly where it is.
On most cars, they will have a couple of spare fuses on the back of the fuse box lid but fuses blow for a reason, because there is an electrical fault, i suggest you get a breakdown company to have a look at it as they will have an idea of whats wrong.

Yeah, the sudden loss of power leads me to believe there's a fault in the electrical system, but i can't figure out why. The only thing that i can think of is possible a loose battery ground that sparked and blew a fuse, but i tightened it myself and my carputer isn't even hooked up yet....hmmm...gonna need some expertise on this one.

How would i find a breakdown company? I'ma google it right now to see if i can find anything.

EDIT: Didn't find anything..lol....but the AAA guy should be here within the next 15 minutes.
