Hey I have a DVD 990 (just got it) and am not sure if any of the wires go to the 'remote' switch for my amp (usually a blue wire). There is an orange wire that the manual doesn't say anything about. Just wondering if any of them will put out a signal to turn on my amp....or else I will just wire an external switch.....Thanks!

My 10 cents

I just found this thread, and thanks to everyone who has posted useful information, I am sure this has been a great help for people using this unit.

I have owned a dvd990 for going on two years. It is still working as it did to begin with. It has been an overall reliable unit. The prices have come down to 200 bucks on these now, it is worth buying in my opinion.

A few problems I have had with my particular unit:

Reading USB or SD cards, the sound quality is awful with static. I never really had much use for that option, still a bit aggravating.

Every once in awhile, it will refuse to eject the CD or DVD. If I wait overnight and try it again, it will usually spit it right out.

The LCD screen at night is WAY TOO BRIGHT. I have found no way to adjust this....if anyone knows how to adjust it I would be very appreciative. That glaring blue from the radio display can be annoying...sometimes I just flip the unit down so I can still listen to the radio but not have the glare.

Screen dims with each bass hit when you have the volume turned up...not sure what to do about that. Nothing major, just annoying.

Ok, that is about it....I would definitely like to know if there are ways to get software upgrades for it, I would love to have a screensaver or wallpaper to get rid of that garish blue color.

My thanks to the poster who started this thread way back, I have found more information in this one thread than anywhere else on the web.

Exclamation I installed this and im having a problem

I got an Innovatek from my uncle, and installed it myself, its not rocket size, just matched the wires and also the radio, BUT when i put in a DVD or a CD- it says NO DISC, on the Innovatek screen when i push the mod button, then it switches back to radio by itself after 5 seconds, Just wondering if there was a wiring wrong or is my 990 f'ed up?

Thanks for reading guys.

Looking for schema/components

Seems my buying the dvd 995 was a misser, after a month the lights and USB/SD function stopped after a puff of smoke out of the system....

Should have listened to you...

Had some hassle with the seller: if we can repair here in Holland, well, we make dikes and Dikes , so a dvd player should be possible...

Is there anyone who has a 990 or 995 opened and can note the type of transistor "Q814", the transistor on the side in the back-right of the thing, the left of the three there... should be a "bd 435", but i'm not sure...

And do you have ANY clue what kind of zenerdiode is on the rear of the print, "ZD1", suppose it's a 5 v thing but its black now...

A schematic would be great...

For the rest: it looks fine, radio looks much more "16 bits - comodore 64 ish" than the 990, the DVD/USD/CD menu sucks: need eagle eyes.
DIVX sound lags a bit now and then..
Sound is ok,
radio is not that sensitive as I would liked, ....
Manual ...*****..., connection layout with your help here is clear now,

If I knew what I now now, I would buy a JVC KD-AVX2 which is the same, but hassle-free.

hi guys..nice thread..shame I saw it too late after getting a 990

I have a problem with the TV tuner. I bought the ANT-2 and as already noted in this thread unfortunately YES i have black and white vision without sound which might be as stated no PAL-BG grrrrrrrrrr what a shame....

Is there anything to change the set to european version or to get the tv stations in order ? I live in europe and bought it locally from an auction thus no way I can return it back or support.

Please help me out

hi everybody,
I have the same problem like many of you -the unit won't read anymore any kind of disc.It happened after a couple of weeks of functioning without problems.
I tried adjusting variable rezistors on the laser pick-up unit but no luck.Anyone dismantled the laser and can indicate any type, serial or code for this unit?
I figured,I could replace the laser with a better quality one,and I could use this player, altough there are other week points of this unit -messy usb function, week radio-tv tuning.

Thanks

Hi all, i like everyone else was more than confused with the install DE structions

i use the reversing camera and 2 x 9.5" headrest screens. all works great except i also have no volume on tv. i run the dual antenna colour is fine just no audio.
apart from the tv audio issue the unit has been great. i have 2 x 500RMS 2 chan amps in the rear 1 drives rear 6x9 8 way speakers the other a 15" sub. 4 speakers in front only running from headunit.

the correct wiring (took me a while to work it out, should not of read the instructions lol )

BLUE ~ remote for amps i also use to wake headrest screens. can be used for antenna i chose to switch my antenna manually because i like it down when cd or dvd is in play. will remain up as long as headunit is switched on

PINK ~ backsight 12v connect the power wire from reversing camera to reverse light active run a 3way joint and connect the same wire to the backsight wire from headunit (its probably labeled wrong but trust me its the pink wire ) when you select revers regardless of what the headunit is doing cd dvd tuner it will auto switch to reverse camera and say backsight on screen.

ORANGE ~ the brake light wire. lots of confusion over this wire. if you dont care about being stopped by the police and busted dont bother to connect the wire front screen will play constantly. to be legal wire the orange wire to the 12v active side of the handbrake switch NOT THE EARTH SIDE. the way this works; when the handbrake is off (being nuetral switched) there will be 12v on the GLOBE side of the switch. this 12v will place the headunit screen into a black state with a text warning saying something similar to "WARNING Stop to Watch" if you have extra screens they will not see message and will continue to watch the dvd, it only effect the headunits front screen.
when the handbrake is ON the 12v will go to ground and u will have 0v the screen now functions on the headunit as the 12v is removed.
some ppl have said direct wire the brake to earth to watch regardless of brake, is no point its not the earth thats making the screen function its the disapearence of the 12v waiting to find its earth.
i have wired mine to handbrake to keep the australian law happy and my wallet thicker but due to my front passenger wanting to watch the dvd also i have the wire from handbrake going through a secret switch which does nothing more than open and close the wire from handbrake to dvd unit. closed is legal open circuit is illegal but screen works 24/7. again its not an earth making the screen work its the removal of the 12v from handbrake.

The guy with the dimming screen when subs hit a deep note, get yourself a 2 Farad capacitor install close as posable to the amp, will solve your problems. i run a 1.6 Farad under the dash and a 10Farad in boot for the 2 500RMS amps. i also run a battery stabalizer and upgraded my earth system to everything important (altenator, fuel injection, head lights, thermo fans ect) there cheap to buy and work great. especially on new cars with a million engine sensors, keeps the readings constant and correct.

i noticed i have crapped on a fair bit here if i am not clear enough you are welcome to send me an email for assistance wiring diagrams or install photos,
Cheers DaSnake

final words for the money its a great unit, i only intend on keeping it for a year until something better is out.

INNOVATEK IN-4301DTM USB, AUX and RDS problem

INNOVATEK IN-4301DTM USB, AUX and RDS problem

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought and INNOVATEK IN-4301DTM, The Music, Radio, Disk, dvd works fine.
But I have 2 real problems.

1.- USB: If I connect my USB storage, the Display shows DVD and never detect any MP3 into the memory, the same if I connect my ZUNE (the CD with mp3 files are great).

2.- RDS and NTSC: I'm using that system in Tijuana (Near San Diego USA) and the most of FM station are using RDS (Radio Data System) to send information as Song Name, Artist, Station name, etc. But the INNOVATEK IN-4301DTM has a SW to put USA or Europe. If I put in USA, I can't to get that RDS information and If I put the SW into Europe I can get the RDS, but now I can't get the NTSC tv system (USA use NTSC and Europe PAL)

Anybody has an Idea?

Thanks for your help

It could be possible by backsight they meant rear-view camera.

MP3 Folders

I am having problems with folders on MP3 discs that I make. When trying to play them in my Innovatek 401DTM the folders are not shown and all the mp3's from all the folders are just shown in a huge long list. Is there a certain folder directory format when burning my disc I must use for the Innovatek to see the folders instead of putting them all in the same list? I used to have an old JVC that required a number to be put in the folder name to let it be seen, is there something like this for Innovatek products?

The Innovatek manual is of so very very useless and after emailing Innovatek support I have had no response.

Thank you in advance for your help

Wiring to 8 speakers

I have a 2003 Xterra with a Rockford Fosgate system and I want to install a Innovatek DS-700TS and it has a 4x45w High Power Out. Can I directly hook this up the the 8 speakers or do I need other hardware?

http://www.mp3playerstore.com/stuff_...DIN-700TS.html

If I have posted this in the wrong form, sorry.
