The reason they're only seeing video when the lights are off is because their headlight switch shows ground when the headlights are off.
If you leave the wire disconnected, you'll NEVER see video.
I just installed this unit in my Jeep this weekend. The install was easy and pretty straight forward. I agree with everyone on this board that the instructions are terrible. I originally hooked up everything but the power antenna (since i don't have this) and the "Backsight". Everything worked fine until i turned on the head lights.
Then i get this error message "Warring Please stop WAT video player"
so i opened everything up and hooked the "Backsight" to the GROUND. But I still got the same error message.
Please...does anyone know how to fix this error.
Also what type of antenna do i need to purchase to get TV signals. The two inputs look like RCA cable inputs.
As far as the good and bad.
Good
The unit plays backup DVDs in DVD+R format.
The unit plays MP3 burned onto DVD. It is nice to have all of my favorite songs on one CD.
Detachable face
Better then expected quality in movie mode
Bad
The units display while on the radio is cheezy at best.
Every time the power is turned off the unit has to read the entire DVD which takes a couple of minutes
The display is fuzy while playing the CD music files (see pictures)
Manual - Learning curve - ease of use
Several people have asked for some pictures so here are mine. Hope this helps.
Loading a DVD...takes a couple of minutes
Directory of Music files on DVD
Blurry screen...impossible to read while driving. Not too bad if you get this close
Folded down to access CD/DVDs
Taking the face off
The cheese.... thought they could have done a better job on this screen. RDS only picks up the station slogan. No clock.
