Hi there, I'm from South Africa, I just received my Innovatek 990 unit, yesterday after waiting 3months due to customs problems. Yesterday I installed the unit. I did not connect the (backsight 12v), (brake 12v), Tv anttea or (power anttena).

The Unit works but with some problems, when I insert a DVD or cd, it reads the disc, and begins to play, but it does not let me stop, pause or skip. I can only operate the volume. If its a dvd it does not show the menu of the dvd, it just plays the dvd.

I'm not sure of what to do to fix this, should I send it back to
MP3playerstore.com? If I do will they refund me or will they exchange it?

I see someone on the forum sent there unit back, did they sort you out or did they give you a big story?

Please I need urgent help!!!!!!!!!!!

"NO CD" problem

I had the same problem, no matter if was a bought cd/dvd or brunt cd/dvd it spins it for a few seconds then says "no disc". Lucky for me this happened while i was leaving for a 4 hr drive. IT was great at least the radio still worked, but i hate radio. Anywho I ended up returning the unit to the returns department because it seemed nothing reverses the problem. I mailed it on june 29 and it arrived at their store in Canada on july 4. Today is July 17th and after several long waits on the help line i finally got answered and was given a long drawn out story about why it still hasnt been shipped out. I was assured that it would be sent out on the 18th or 19th.....well i guess we will see. Lucky for me i leave again for another 11hrs of driving tomorrow morning and the day after, i guess it gives me a chance to relax and think about stuff. My advice to you is that you will need to return the item, prepare urself for long wait...you might want to reinstall whatever deck you had in your vehicle. Hopefully you still have it!

PS the deck worked great for 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!! ahh money well spent!

Unhappy Installing Problem

Hi, everybody, i has the same problem that some of you here, i bought a dvd-990 and try to install it, but i get only the radio to work, when i insert a cd or sd a black screen appears and nothing happens...

About the "brake" and "backsight" wires, i left them disconnected, and nothing happens, i connected to ground, and nothing, but i found an interesting thing, if i put 12v in the "brake" wire, i get a screen message "Back Sight" and when i put 12v in the "backsight" wire, i get a message "Please Stop Watching Player" (or some like that). They seem to be inverted. I also has disconnected the "antena" wire too, because i dont have automatic antena.

If someone can help me, i very appreciate!...

Thanks

Oh, i forgot to mention that the manual really sucks!!!

Unless you are given one of these for free i would recomend nobody buys one as has a poor quality build and poor resolutuin screen. Also i am in the uk and it doesn't read most uk frequency's unless i'm missing some switch.

Ps.Pain in the *** to put the front on also.

Great thread! So do people like mp3playerstore.com's service? How are people liking these units? They seem cheap enough to play around with.

Buy through ebay because if you buy through ebay in the US your product ships from New york instead of canada store. And if you have product or customer service problems with mp3player store you can take it up with ebay and paypal also.

I have the unit now and it plays very well. This one is going to stay. The dvd video is great. The only bad thing ont the device is the GUI. That is from a realy bad quality. You cannot see the graphics on the screen.
Nevertheless. The sound and video quality and also the SD card intergration works fantastic.
