I have had mine for about a month now and overall am pretty happy with it. I have two issues I would like to correct:

1. I have a Sirius reciever wired into the auxillary input and I get engine intererance (whine consistant with engine RPM).

2. While listening t the Sirius the unit jumps to the DVD mode. I then have to cycle back through to the aux. mode.

Has anyone has any similar issues?

My sad story.

I started with a 393x-tv which has everything but a built in screen. It stopped recognizing cd/dvd’s after a months. I sent an email asking for a return and also ask about upgrading to the DVD 990. I was told yes, I could upgrade for $140 more (I paid $80 through ebay for the 393x) and they would pay shipping back to me. I shipped my defective unit back to Canada ($21.60). About 7 days later – I received a call telling me they received my defective unit and they were ready to ship out the replacement – but offered me the newer DVD 993 unit instead – same price. I agreed and received it a few days later. I was surprised (my fault) that the head unit was bigger then the radio and would not fit into my 1987 Mercedes, but I can accept that. The problem I’m having now is with the radio – it looses the antenna somehow and the channels fad away.
I just sent them (mp3playerstore) an email saying how dissatisfied I was and that I did not want to spend any more money and mentioned that geek.com had the unit cheaper with a better warranty.

So I’m waiting to hear back from them.

Lou

Anyway my reason for posting is this. I cannot tune into many of my local stations here in the Uk as i think my DVD-990 is setup to USA frequency or somthing.

Can/How do i change the frequency to Europe standard?

I have the same problem!!!
I received the same Mp3 player today from mp3playerstore.com and I had the same problem while trying to tune to radio stations and to tv channels.
The tv channels becomes black-white without sound!?!
Does anyone have any solution for that?
Seems that this DVD player doesn't work as TV-RADIO on European countries.

The problem is that the radio frequency is from 87.5 to 107,9 with steps of 0.2 MHz.
The european version should have steps of 0.1 Mhz and should cover the band from 87,5 to 108 MHz.Now when you want to tune to a station eg. 88.0 MHz you can't because tuner tunes to 88.1(USA profile).
Also the other problem is with the TV Tuner.
The PAL system isn't compatible with PAL B/G so you have Black and White picture without sound!!!!
The PAL/SECAM/NTSC button doesn't fix the problem. That works only on DVD Player.
Any suggestion from anyone????
It must be some hidden menu that switches the setting from USA to European settings......

Hi All!

Type 993 is absolutely the same like the 990. The only diffrent is the design of the front panel! If you put the 990 front to the 993, it will work whitout any problem, becouse the two machine is the same!
(sorry for my english, I'm from Hungary)

Hi blizzardsps!

Don't panic! You can change USA and European mode with a special manufacture code!!! You don't have to change the complete machine!
I don't know the whole procedure, but I know, you are able to change this option on your machine!
For more information please ask your support contact!

Bye!
