having trouble with WMP10 and DVD's

Hey guys I'm trying to get DVD's to work on my carPC, but so far no luck. I can't get intervideo windvd7 to work so i've gone to WMP10. And even after installing WMP 10 the only difference now is that I can hear the DVD playing, but can't see it. Any ideas? I tested the DVD-Rom on my laptop, and played black hawk down with no problems. I go to put it in the car, and I get audio, but no video. I'm wondering if this isn't a driver issue or maybe a decoder issue. Anyone???

SP13000 mobo
512 Ram
Lite-On external USB slot load (tested on my laptop playing a DVD, worked fine)
40gig laptop drive

Maybe a decoder issue. I was under the impression that WMP can't play DVDs unless you have a full-on DVD playback program installed on the computer, like WinDVD. I may be wrong though.

When you say 'no video', do you mean WMP is showing a visualization instead of the video, or it's just showing 'black'. If it's 'black' it may be something in your video card settings.

Ok problem fixed, had to get a decoder...paid $13 for it, but hey at least everything's working now. I found out why windvd didn't work, my video chip isn't compatible or known to be compatible with the program.
