Tweak for programs not responding?

every time, and i mean EVERY time I turn off, hibernate or log off my laptop (windows xp professional) I recieve multiple "program does not respond" screens and have to press "close now" or "cancel" on each of them before I can go any further. This even happens if I do a full boot, not opening any extra program, and then do a shut-down right away after boot up. Isn´t that a little strange?

This is very annoying when using a frontend that I want to make look like a factory installed multimedia system, not like a windows screen

Any suggestions?

sounds like the software thats controlling everything is having issues. Id back up reinstall. and then ghost the drive. that way if you ever have any issues you can just reload the image. I ghost a copy when im done installing at the begining. and then every couple months. if i ever have any issues i go back to the previous ghost.

You can clean up the drive, defrag and get rid of old unneeded files. then reisntall any programs that are having issues and try again. I also dont hibernate ever since it messes with my usb ports sometimes. I Either go standby(normal) or if im not going to use my car, I shut down completely. Good luck.

Ok, standby sounds like a better idea than hibernate, my computer does have some kind of problem almost everytime I resume from hibernation, mostly with the usb hub and I cannot find any logical solution to why it occurs. Can anyone link me to a workaround/fix for this problem? It also does not recognize a usb hub I recently bought, which does work perfectly on my other pc with same os. (it´s a usb 2.0 hub)

For how long can You use standby when the car is parked before the battery goes out of power?
