Delco AUX Cable Pinout Fool question...Need Help...

Hi...

Probably the answer to my question have been already posted somewhere in the forum but I did try to find it without a good result.

I have a Delco cassette head-unit on my 99 chevy-malibu with an Aux button model 16255311 posted in http://www.corvetteradios.com/UsedDe...tteRadios.html

I want to adapt my Ipod to play it directly from the Aux Input of the HU, I know that there are a bunch of "After Market" cables for this purpose but they are somehow dificult to get here in Mexico.

Can anybody post or send me a cable configuration for this purpose

In advance thank you for your help

There should be nothing to it.

Get some 1/8 stereo plugs, and some audio cable with 2 conductor and a shield.

Then, the shield goes to the top most band of the stereo plug, then 1 conductor to the middle band, and the other conductor to the pin, OF BOTH CONNECTORS.

Done, just plug it in.

OR,

get this, http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/item/CB-389/117/12"#39;CABLE,_3.5_MM_STEREO_PLUGS_BOTH_ENDS_.htm l

Without having a slave unit attached, you need to see if you can find yourself an AUX-GM9. That'll emulate something being attached to the unit and enable the aux, also giving you RCA inputs. I don't know of any other method than that offhand.

Wiredwrx: You're going on the assumption that there's a 3.5" jack on that radio, which there isn't. The AUX button is for a slave unit, tape or CD.

No Slave unit attached

I dont have a slave unit attached to the head unit, and the head unit does not have a 3.5" jack input...

Is there someway to fabricate or emulate AUX-GM9, or does it have somekind of complicated electronics..?

I was thinking about a Cable with a connector to be attached to the head untit on one end and in the other end a 3.5" jack to connect to the ipod or any audio device...

Thanks

Unless you go with MatrixPC's suggestion, you'll either need the GM9 or an external tape deck for that unit. There are (so far as I understand) complex electronics at play that's more than tying a couple of wires together to get the headunit to recognize that something is plugged in.
