Aopen Mini Heatsink + Fan

All, I just got my pc back from repair (wouldn't boot up)and I see they changed out the Heatsink and fan. They said they tested it out and had it running for 24 hrs straight but when I installed it and booted it up I found it would turn off after about 20 minutes. It doesn't appear the fan is turning on at all. They said I should send it back and it would take about another week or so. Any ideas? Should I send it back ?

There is not alot of info on this unit you are talking about. Is this the mini computer or the motherboard. Be more specific.

Sorry, I don't know to much about computers. It's the Aopen Mini 915 with a pentium M processor. They pretty much replaced the motherboard and heatsink and now the fan won't come on and it's causing it to overheat

try opening it up to see if the cable is loose. if its not send it back to them sucker. Make em pay for shipping since they sent it back to you mess up again.

I checked the cable and it's fine. I also removed the heatsink and re-installed just in case but still nothing. What ****es me off is the downtime, I've already been without it for a month and I just got it back yesterday. Oh well, off it goes for repair....again.

After giving it some time to cool down, does the CPU fan spin again when you power up the system?

Apparently the CPU fan smart fan controller is setup with a high turn on temperature threshold. You will need to access the BIOS to quickly change the threshold settings so the fan never turns off even at low temps.

Do you have a cable that will allow you to connect the fan directly to the power supply to "force" it to spin up?

Sent the system back again (3rd Time) they said the heatsink and fan were bad (why send it to me then?) Now I have to wait another 2-3 weeks.

I'm thinkin of replacing this pc with something more "off the shelf" friendly

Any ideas?

Lemon... get something else. Sux since it looks like a pretty nice computer, but it doesn't fit my needs.
