Is there somewhere where it says what programs are installed?

Other than in the add remove programs folder of corse... I really REALLY need to reformat and reinstall windows, but would prefer to check what programs are installed, and see if I have them on CD/backed up somewhere to reinstall them before reformatting. I couldn't be bothered writting down the whole list of installed programs, so am wondering if there is a list of them in the registry, or somewhere else.. thanx...

Regedit...

Run -> regedit -> Local Machine -> Software -> BINGO. Most of them will be there. But isnt the point of formatting to get rid of all the crap programs that you dont use anymore?

Thanx.. but that doesn't really help.. :P Yeah, you might be right about getting rid of unwanted programs... but I want most of the ones I have, and windows loves its blue screen of death. Everytime I turn the computer on, I egt it and then have to restart for it to work and then it still oftem dies... I am also getting registry errors.. :P TIME TO RENEW!!!

Funny, I've used Windows ever since 3.1 and I've never had to reinstall due to errors....FWIW....

But yeah, the best place to tell what is installed is in the Program Files folder, and the registry key mentioned above.
