fm emitter antenna hardwire

hi all !

as I am STILL trying to get a decent solution to feed my PSP (or other MP3 player) into my amps...I decided to give a chance to an FM emitter
a small chance though as I bought a 15$ one.
so, I install it...and find that despite the emitter is in the car, I still have to pull out the antenna ! and still, the result is terrible as it's a 106.4 emitter and there is a station on 106.5 ! the ****ers.
yet I'm thinking...couldn't I simply hardwire the antenna to my HU ? it should be perfect !?
so I look it up in google and find a guy that made EXACTLY THAT and sez on a forum "I have a crystal clear signal now and it rocks !"
so what do I do ? the exact same thing ! I explode the stupid lighter thingy - wait, is that all there is in a fm emitter ? darn ! - find on the board a place marked "ANT" - even with a spare connection ! so I weld an antenna wire there and here goes !
I also hard wire the 12V+ and -, connect it to the car and TADA ! pure crystal sound of ****. I get an horribly saturated signal with LOTS of parasites, noise, whatever.
so I pull the antenna from the HU connector...and THEN I have a about-correct sound, like a bad FM station, with hum and breathing.
WHAT THE HECK ?
I think...and then "of course ! I have to cut the yellow wire they used as antenna ! must do a ground loop or whatever" - so snip...and...the same.
**** technology.

so my question is...

why in the hell did it work for him and not for me ?

really...there is this Clarion HU I saw...

it comes with a remote, a USB key, it looks nice...so...why in the hell do I bother, right ?
well, I had some hopes to use the long awaited PSP-GPS thing but hell...
