LCD camouflage anti-theft mod
Sometimes I go to NY or Boston and park car on the street overnight. To keep ultimately sleeper look as well as to be able to sleep at night I had to do this:

Thanks to jeffroh22vtec@nasioc for face plate from his broken radio.

That's sweet, by far the best anti-theft mod I have seen or heard. The rest require you to frustrate the thief and cause him to wreak havoc on your car. I hope to do this on my carputer!

Nice! Looks a lot better than mine. I cobbled it together out of a bottle cap, busted dvd player and sheet of abs.
It still looks convincing from outside. The plan was to find a double din (with tape deck ) and mold it into doors. I keep meaning to hit the junkyards, but never seem to get around to it.

From outside, it does the trick. Glad you reminded me, I just got a nice double din on ebay. I'm going to make a mold of it and make split doors I think. I'm going to leave the window out so I can drive around and still see what's playing as it pretty much lines up with the skin.
I'm not only concerned with hiding it while parked, but also sometimes when I'm driving around the neighborhood (near downtown Boston). I worry that if I'm just cruising local, someone will notice it and hit my car later as I've only seen one car same make/model/color as mine in MA once in five years.
I'm also tempted to make the buttons on the door faceplate work. That would be pretty cool. Then when I'm just using music, I could keep it pretty low key and not have to screw around with the doors.

Both of those look very convincing and I don't think anyone would want to jack shotgunefx's setup
I was going to take a photo of my dash empty and stick it on a flat cover so it would like it's already been stolen Not sure how well that would work though.

Hope you're right about that
A pic of the one I just won. I'll have to extend it a bit as the spot is really 3 DIN with the HVAC removed.
