Losing settings in xp?

Hey everyone. Ive been doing some slight field testing with my setup, and ive noticed some wierd stuff. Its almost like windows xp on my vectra is losing certain settings and parameters. For example my screen settings. i use the software that came with me screen, set the resolution, and then played with the colors so the screen didnt appear so washed out. i then transfered my stuff to the car. currently im powering off of a invertor until i buy my m2-atx. the screen has lost its color settings when i turn everything on. the resolution is right, but not color. also, it wont pick up my gps reciever. its not the software for the reciever since i also use this on my laptop and its been bullet proof since loading it up. what could cause a loss of some info but not all? anyone have any insight?

Well, the color settings could be because of driver issues. Also, since you moved everything, that could have an effect on it, although it shouldn't.

As for the GPS, I have no clue.

Windows XP Home/Professional SP2
Device drivers:
Right click My Computer, click Manage. In the left pane click Device Manager. If you see anything with a red X then that means that device is disabled. If you see anything with a yellow ? then that means the drivers aren't installed for that device.

As for the display, just change the color and you should be fine. Make sure to apply the color, and when you reboot it should work with no problem. If not, then you have a device issue, not an issue with your screen.

well, a friend of mine was telling me to check the system battery. that could cause the issue with stuff being lost for monitor settings and what not. ill try that and post up my results.
