Mp3car meet, In Ohio
Ok, I would like to finally plan a meeting.
In Ohio, On Route 50, at the fair grounds in Clermont County.
Anyone living in Eastern US should be able to jump onto Route 50 (It goes all the way to florida, I believe) and be here.
I will be calling the fair grounds and seeing how much it costs to rent out the biggest building. I'm guessing maybe 250-500$ish, I may be wrong though.
Anybody that wants to go, please post, if I get a good response, I will setup a paypal account. Then you can paypal me a set amount, depending on building costs, etc.
What is not used to pay for building will go towards food, etc.
The grounds will be vacant, but are about 1/2 mile from the police station, so it will need to be kept quiet.
I'm shooting for a weekend in September or October. Show about around noonish, show off our systems till 5ish, then hit the local thru-way for some fun. I'd like to go race some go-karts at the local track with a few people ;-)
Ok, please post only if you are interested or have questions.
P.S. Friday night is test and tune night at a 1/4 mile track about an hour from here, if anyone wants to come early, we could do that aswell.

I'd like to go.. I can't guarantee I will.. But I'd certainly like to
I'm in the NYC area.. anybody in this area can meet up someplace around here and we could caravan over and get a hotel room when we get there

I'd be down with it. I personally find the timing to be a little inconvient. I'll be attending a convention here in St. Louis the last weekend in September.
Toss in there that I'm waiting on my new car and have no WORKING MP3 player and you get the idea.
But I'll keep watching. Might be fun for a day trip or somthing. Maybe I can get PoBoy to car-pool with me at that point.

That would be fun, but its a hell of a drive from san diego! How funny would it be to drive all the way up there and meet only istrunk in a huge building... Anyway, if there is ever anything closer to the west coast, I would be up for it!

That sounds like a good idea. I live in western NY and would be willing to make the drive. Sounds like a good time. Maybe by then I can have my setup up and running.

Labor Day weekend??
Labor Day weeekend??...Just a proposal for a date. Its looking like a lot of interest is coming from various States. Thats a long haul for some people. A 3 day weekend may be nice. I dont know about the Canadians, but no work/school on the first Monday of September. I think its the 2nd of Sept. May be too early though.
1/2 mile from Police station will probably cause problems. $250-500 is a good chunk of change. I wouldnt want to be kicked out after an hour. Any other places? No FREE parks??

I can't really think of any parks around here with biggish parking lots. Especially ones that wouldn't be busy on labor day weekend.
Anyone have some suggestions?

Got any car stereo stores around, ones that would sell amps, lcd panels, etc. See if they would sponser it for advertising. We have columbus car audio up here, you can buy speakers, alarms, dynamat, etc.

There is a church (used to be a hardware store) on the corner of Madison & Ridge that has a huge parking lot. Should look into it. There is also the Hamilton Co fairgrounds!

I think that a very opptomistic number of partisipants would be around 20 people.. I don't think they'd care too much for advertising to 20 people.
They might! but chances are poor i think.

Yes but the car stereo market is not really that big of a market anyway. A lot of poeple just leave the factory player in their leased car and don't buy nice amps, LCD's etc. The audio shop could advertise on a radio for $1000 and maybe only get 20 customers, or they could let 20 people use their parking lot to show off their systems, maybe sell to those 20 poeple, and maybe attract others to come see those systems who may say I can do that too and go in the shop and but something all for free, they just have to let use use their parking lot. Maybe if I get around to going into Columbus car audio, I'll mention to them and see if they will let use do something.

Sorry a little too far for this West Coast Canadian, but just to let you know, yes that is a long weekend for us up here as well. AND it is even called the same, except we spell labor as labour. Crazy Canucks!
