Chicago MP3Car Meet?

I know a lot of people live either in the city, or near suburbs (like myself) which would make a meet in Chicago seem like a sensical thing to do, and there probably a bunch of people out in the further our suburbs that im neglecting as well, so just northern illinois mp3 car meet in chicago? I don't know where we should meet, nor when, but I want to see who's interested so we can try to come up with a central location and a good date. Anyone else up for it?

i would definately be there. i am home between Aug. 5th and 15th. I was thinking we could meet inside (lunch) or outside Shaumberg at Woodfield mall. Thats a great location, nice and open, easy to get to.

Heh, so we're looking at people from all over the state at this point (and New Jersey, but thats just because ShinkunoNamida is seemingly insane ). Does anyone have any ideas for somewhere to meet? (maybe something slightly more official than a mall parking lot? ). Going from the one person who spoke up on which dates were the best, how does the 10th or 11th of August sound?

Before 22nd...

I second the before the 22nd. The weekend of the 10th is best for me. The 17th is the Woodward Dream Cruise weekend in Detroit. If you like classic cars, its the place to be. But its two days, so I could still swing on over.

Places to meet? I dont know the area, but arent there public parks / camp grounds? Its pretty damn hot out...I dont know of that many people going camping. I like the idea of a car stereo shop...There has to be some small ones around that would let us set up shop. Come to Detroit, Ive got one.

ohh...the malls in Detroit bust us for loitering. It may not be a good idea to hold it there.

Im waiting for people to suggest meeting spots . So if this is going to happen, shall we make the weekend (10th or 11th at this point, one or the other) of the 10th of August the official meet date? I don't think i saw any objections to this. With that being 3 weeks away, im not sure what the possibilities for an "official" meeting spot are, but im looking into some of the forest preseves/pinic areas around me.

10th sounds great! From the looks of it, we have 7 people? Anyone else considering that hasnt spoken up yet? If its gonna be 7, i think we can do it just about anywhere although a park sounds the best. I love to barbecue! My folks just threw a party, I got a ton of burgers and some beverages left over that we can have. The only place I know in the Chicago area is Lake Zurich. I know there is a park with a descent size lot right next to the lake. Not sure if its crowded on weekends or what, but its nice and in the shade if I recall correctly (last time i was there was in the snow).
