Cool Head Unit + VGA

Howdy!

Are there any headunits out there ( dont care if its double din, single din, motorized) that can pump out good sound, but also have VGA in?

More intersted in ahving a Touchscreen/Headunit combo, as opposed to having two separate units in my dash.

Thanks in advance!

There are VGA trouchscreens that have built0-in AM/FM tuner and amplifier.
There are no headunits with VGA in. There haven't been any since I've been involved in this hobby...

I wish I could find one that has preouts....I am setting up an external amp, and so far the double din screen I found that did have built in volume control doesn't control windows volume mixer per say, rather, its own built in amp. Kinda sucks for me

Unfortunately, the T3 is a tad bit too pricey

Why don't the big brands have VGA inputs ? It doesn't seem this feature would hurt these companies...

The ratio of people who would want a VGA input to people to don't even know what the hell VGA is, is not in favour to us. They want money, and if nobody will use the VGA in, then go for a low res screen, and be done with it.

Until computers go mainstream in cars, there will be no such thing.

There is one unit that was at CES I believe (Alpine or Kenwood) with a VGA screen, but it wont be publically available for quite some time.

It's not worth it to them.
They'd have to put in better-quality LCD panels, as well as new controller boards. And for what? A tiny segment of the market that wants a PC display?

Alpine, Pioneer, Sony, Eclipse, etc. aren't into PCs. They don't want you putting a PC in your ride that can do all the things that they sell products for. They would much rather you buy their products!

Exactly, why put a product on the market that only does 2 or three things when you can slap one on that does about 8 (4 of which are heavily hamstrung) and charge 4 times the price?

Oh and while you're at it dig in to the spare parts bin from 5 years ago and liberally stamp on "New".

OK maybe that's a little excessive...

Or you can just give up and use a VGA to S-video or RCA converter and get a crappy picture and have to use a mouse device.
