Factory telematics in cars - Today and Tomorrow

I love some of the prices for a factory system. Some are $2,000.00+ over sticker for less features than we get with a carPC for 1/2 that price or so.

I wanna job with one of the Big Three!

I will say that features like XM navtraffic and things like restaraunt ratings are probably better than being able to play a DVD while driving...

The fact that it has fully integrated voice controls for radio stations, climate control, etc... only adds to the value of an OEM system.

plus, a lot of OEM units come with the transflective screens. A pricey option that a lot of us don't have.

I might pay two thousand dollars for the features I mentioned (including the transreflective, or at least antiglare screen), but I wouldn't pay that for a basic navi only system.
