Radar Detector Integration

Anyone know how to achieve the following. If it matters im using Centrafuse.

My radar detector has a 1/8 stereo output for voice alerts. I want to inout this into my carPC and when the radar detector makes alert either mute or lower the volume of my music?

So Line In activity mutes WAV volume..

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

Just hook it up and set line-in level to max, then you'll hear the detector over your music at any level. Oh, and so will the cars sitting next to you at the light. :-)

Would it not just require a plugin that mutes the wav when something comes through the line in? I think you'd be better off posting this in the Centrafuse section, as each frontend will require a different plugin. It may even be a feature already include, that you don;t know how to turn on If it's not a feature, you could request it?

You could also just have a 3rd party app running in the background that does the same thing.

You'll hear it at max I assure you. You may want to turn it down quite a bit actually. I tried the audio level detection, and didn't like it because there was a slight delay from processing the buffered audio to playing my own audio. I switched to using a digital input with my Escort. If you have a V1, there's a very cool option for it around here.

No. The Escort has a remote that can just beep and mute. I have that connected to a digital input on a PIC. It's not the new 9500i with USB and SIRFstarIII GPS, which may be purchased very soon depending on reviews.
