i have girder!

thanks for that i can now get girder to see the codes that are being transmitted they show up on the bottom but there is a starnge thing they all seem to have an extra bit on the end? (co826)

i am sure that after a bit of playing around i will cure this but this is probably me being extremely dumb...

when i have girder fully recognising what i am sending to it how then do i get it so that it shows up on my pc as a keyboard?

i apologise if this is really stupid but i guessthat means i probably am!!!

but i do drive a volvo

Does anyone know where I can buy Girder 3 or get a code rather than buy Girder 4 as it seems far more complex to use than 3 and far slower.

Any advice would be very welcome.

Thanks.

still stumbling around

ok i have got girder to recognise every code as it should be according to the gdl file from nemesis .
i then used the keyboard settings and managed to get it so my keyboard button presses were ignored but now i how do i get it so that my remote will work as a keyboard i tried to set up events , run in foreground etc but it just is not doing anythiing .
i have searched around the forums (here and promixis) but cant get the info i need and amd kind of struggling does anybody have any info on how they got the thing to work?
i am using centrefuse as my front end and really like it too but not having a keyboard is beginning to annoy me

Help!!!

I'm looking for "Generic serial based IR Receiver" plugin for Girder. I've looked everywhere on google and all the dl links refer to Girders site which they don't have it posted anymore. Thanks...

Thanks... That'll be great! Right now I'm using the "Generic Serial Support" plugin and I got everything to work ok. The only thing is when I press a key more than once, like when using the curser functions, then go on to pressing a button after that it's like it stores the code for a second. I have to press the next button a few times in order to get the correct output. Same goes with the volume.
I hope that makes sense.

Does anyone have the pdf that Nemesis was hosting? The link above doesn't work anymore. I am trying to set up girder and am hoping the pdf will enlighten me. Now I can get girder to recognize keypresses, but it just blinks and doesn't do anything.

Nevermind...I got it working. It took a few days longer than I was wanting to spend on it. It really wasn't that hard to setup, I just had to learn girder first...

Ok I have the file, thanks again. Mine came with a serial connector on it, hooked it up got nothing. Took the connector apart and was a wire disconnected. I then looked at the wiring diagram and some of the wires are not the same, so I am going to redo it as per the color codes in the picture. I have seen that some say they need a power adapter for it, if that is the case what wires do I need to connect a plug to?

It needs 5v (as I recollect)...I would have to find/double check mine to be sure.

Search online...there were wireing diagrams etc back on the old girder website...don't know if it is still there...

...and I am not sure where my stuff is...haven't used it in a couple of years.
