I'm still friggin confused on this remote...Don't really understand everything needed to make it work or what I get when I win the item. Is it just the remote or the reciever as well? As much as I hate to say it...could someone please explain this to me like I'm a 2 year old.

Ok as i have just figured it out ill tell you....
On the ebay auction of great fame....
You get the remote and the reciever.
The reciever it comes with is only for use with the QWERTY keyboard function.
In normal use the remote has 2 IR emitters one for the normal buttons (ie stop play volume up volume etc) and another emitter for the QWERTY keyboard.
So you will need another IR reciever like an IR MAN if you want to use all the buttons. As the other reciever for the Volume up volume down play stop buttons is built in to the On Digi Box.
Ok for the reciever you get with the remote (THAT I SAY AGAIN is ONLY FOR THE QWERTY KEYBOARD), you need to change its gender....
The reciever has a male serial plug so obviously to plug it in to the pc you need to change its gender to a female serial plug. To do that you plug it in to a gender changer which is just like a power adaptor to change your plugs from 2 pin to 3 pin when u go to the UK.
Once its all plugged in you have to use Girder to configure all the buttons to o functions.....i beleive Nemesis has already done that and you can use his files to save you the time.
I hope that was usefull

You got it!!
Except, a gender changer may not work and you may need to mod the connections as per my text file that's included with the .zip on my site.

I have done this and it worked on that screen.
But when i go to "learn event" the program does not receive anything.
Can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong ?
I can also see the commands coming in to mediaengine, in the setting menu.

Great thread, I have one coming over the ocean on a slow boat...
Since I just got girder working for my car computer with an ATI RF remote, I feel I am ready for a new challenge (home AV computer)
Keep the info coming.

I built it into the supplied settop receiver, as per the file on my web site. I had the printer port spare so I used that as the interface.

Just got it, played with the soldering iron for a while, and it works!
Here is a thread on girder that some of y'all might want to look at. http://www.girder.nl/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=25823#25823
Now I have to get to work deciding what to do with all those buttons.
