Help Would Be Massively Appreciated
hello all,
I've been tryin to get my receiver working with no success.
I followed the instructions posted in this group, and i still had 1 wire left, a red wire, I tried it anyway and nothing.
so were the cable splits to join the powersupply, i split it, and all the wires snapped off
and now I have more colours! .
anyway, could someone psooibly do me a massive favour...
tell me what colour wires, relate to what pin number from the on digital IR receiver.
In my receiver:
I have 7 Pins.
1 brown
2 red Think this is Positive Volts
3 blue
4 green Think this is Negative Volts
5 yellow
6 pink
7 white
So if somebody can do a continuity test, between the Serial Port plug, and the Receiver that would be gr8.
Or if someone can tell me how I can work it out for my self (user "snmnetwork" managed it) I would be ever so greatful.
snmnetwork
many thanks
mik.

yeahhh I diddit!!!
and it works without power adaptor!
if you cut off the power adaptor conenctor, the wiring is as follows:
Colour Pin number
browny pink.............2
yellow.............3
white.............5
blue.............7
dark brown.............8
orange.............not connected
red.............not connected
green.............not connected
* isolate un connected wires.
The above wiring works **without** the 12v power adaptor, I've modified 2 units both work without.
however, should your receiver need power, the red is +12v and green is -12v.
hope this infomation is of some use to people.
mick.

What version of Girder is required? I have 3.2 and the GML file does not work properly, was it created on a later version?

So is it worth picking one of these up? With the tweaks, do they work well?

I finally got to test out my remote, but ran into some problems after getting all the way to Girder. I used the wiring diagram to put a female plug on the end using the pdf file created by Nemisis. I tested the remote and port out, and got good results. I didn't have to power it up either. In serial watcher, it shows a different code for each button while I have the button down, but has a different value when I let it go.
But when I go to girder, and try to set an event, it says every button is the same value. I have played with the serial port settings in Girder, and also changed the code on the remote, but the results have been the same. Is there any specific setting for the remote, like the specific code for the remote, or in the settings part of girder for the serial plugin.
Thanks for the help, I want this thing to work.
Another thing, using one of the codes, I believe 200, all the buttons on the remote, including the keyboard and the top buttons worked with the single serial port except for the volume and channel controls.

Can someone tell me how their settings are in Girder, like what kind of signal I am suppose to be getting from the remote. I get good numbers in Serial Watcher, but the same thing on every button in Girder.

hey guys,
i installed the remote on my new setup and used a serial>usb converter.
when i press a button on the QWERTY, girder is blinking telling me that i'm pressing a button but nothing happens.
i'm using 3.29 and the univ serial driver, keyboard, and keyboard ex driver.
has anyone else had this problem and what did you do to fix it?
thanks,
john
edit: nm i got it working.. i was using the wrong univ serial driver.

am i blind in girder?
well i had 1 of the ondigital remotes that i kept in my loft when they became "offdigital"
i brought myself a female to female extension cable and wired the pins up on the original cable as per the pdf from this thread i ignored the 6th wire and powered it up and when i went to the see what was happening at the comport thru "terminal v1.9b" i could see different codes for every keyboard button allthough they didnt match all of the ones in the file i assumed this was because i had not set the remote to the right setting but at least i was getting something thru!!
okay i thought lets see what happens when i go into girder .
this is where the problem lies as i just cant seem to see anything atall in girder in version 3.xx or 4.xx
can anybody give me advice i am not exactly dumb but i fear i have been on this occasion.
what settings do i need in girder and which version is the best to use for this.
i have not one clue which plugin to use all i know is that my serial port is set up correctly and i have 2 files that are both from this forum the jared file and the public file should these load the plugins automatically please help me as i am starting to pull my hair out with this now!!!!
