Cheap Laptop...run google Earth?

SO, Is there a way to run Google Earth on a machine with lower resolution than 1024x768? I have an old laptop and 800x600 is max. I am getting errors when I try to run it.
Any work arounds?

i think it has more to do with the video card then the resolution.

what errors do you get? are you sure they are specific to resolution errors?

Thanks 2K...It tells me it needs 1024x768, it says it will run better with this resolution, but it will try to run. It recommends I upgrade my graphics card and then tells me to try open GL mode. When I try to open open GL code, it tells me to try directx...then back to the open GL mode...
