GPS: S&T (w/USB GPS) or (? sw) w/serial Delorme?

I have the chance to buy either:
A) MS S&T 2006 w/ USB GPS or ($90.00 CAD $)
B) Delorme Earthmate 9-pin parallel GPS ($50.00 CAD$)

My concerns:
I am as of yet unsure which PC I will be running this off of (IBM Thinkpad PIII-500, Celeron 600 desktop, other...)
I am concerned about (eventual) touch-screen support.
I am concerned with which app to use/run with the delorme.

I have been reading the reviews of S&T 2006, and suspect my HW might not cut it.
Anyone care to add their .02 in helping me choose?

Thanks in advance.

If the Delorme is the old rectangular one, it requires AA batteries or an adapter to connect to cig lighter for power. The usb is ofcourse self powered.

Sure thing, I ran delorme 03 I guess in my wrecker with the serial receiver. It always put me within a house away from where I was looking for but the battery life was less than 8 hours. Your best bet I imagine is a usb one, I do not know anything about the ones that use a pci card I imagine those a actually the most accurate though.
