A more industrial question

Back-story:
For my 9-5 I repair waterborne GPS navigation systems as well as doing other general IT stuff. Every several years we contract out for new units. We're finalizing everything for a new system right now.

The problem:
I need to design a way to bring a gps antenna signal down from the roof and multiplex it out to ~8 or so gps units. The cable is a BNC for the current unit but i don't know what the cable format for the new units (yet)- i suspect rj-45 (aka ethernet).

So- where do i find a multiplexer (mux) for the BNC (cheep!) and where can i find a multiplexer retailer that can handle the next gen system.

You might want to try a search for GPS distribution amplifiers.

I looked in to those but I never found any that were more than 1:2 and i don't want to daisy chain them. Any other thoughts?

Agilent (HP) makes an 1:8 amplifier. Part # 58517A. You should be able to find them cheap on eBay.
