The "more POI's for IG" discussions.

I'd still like to see this "more POI's in iGuidance" thing get going.
I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but with all the geeks here you'd think "we" could do this.
Well....I can't, but I can supply Lexus disks to whoever wants a crack at adding more POI's to IG.

Here's some related threads (for newbie geeks that haven't seen these discussions):

i have something on the horizon its almost done im just working out a few bugs
hopefully this will help most of us with this annoying little "problem" inav" never addresses
experienced vb coders i was wondering what is the best and most efficient way to sort data into smaller categories
eg. begins with "st" AND is within 25 miles AND is in category "coffeshops"
are multiple dao ado abjects bad?

EDIT: I hope to have support for Freedrive "after i talk to CDR" and Mappoint
those ideas are theretocal as ive never "hacked up" those programs myself

Yeah, the version 3 had just over 1 million of POI's, the upcoming version 4 will have over 6 million of POI's (not 1.6 million as originally announced).

Yes, that's a very good question. It remains to be seen. There are supposed to be new categories/subcategories, but I think there is more to it than that to make POI searches fast and convenient. I wonder if some new type of search has been added or if it's all the same as earlier versions.
