not sure if anyone is still working on this, but I sure hope they are. I'm really not the software hacker type but this would be an AMAZING development for those of us with carPC interests. I'm hoping that whomever is working on this will consider making it something that's an updating software, not a fully real-time thing.
As was mentioned earlier, ACTUAL real time would require a dedicated internet connection and personally I'm not willing to put out $40/month. However, it would work perfectly (for me anyway) if it would check with a site, download a small packet, and act accordingly on it.... Drive through a city, get stopped at a stop light. Your computer connects to the WIFI at the starbucks on the corner, at which point it downloads the packet, and tells you to take a different route then it had originally told you to take.
If you're going on a long trip you could plug your cell in for a temporary internet connection (I know verizon charges like 25cents/min) stay connected for 2 mins or so while you download the update, then rest assure that traffic ahead is clear
Well, I'm really hoping someone is still on this, and will share it with us all soon!!

$21/month?! that's crazy, I'm definitely gonna have to look into that. Hows the service? I pay more then that for my normal cell phone!
(a link to the service if you could find it would be GREATLY appreciated, but if not no prob)

Even inexpensive portable Nav systems now integrate RDS-TMC. See hxxp://www.navigon.com/site/us/en/products_us/2100;jsessionid=73D5D01D132AF2239FB534A585D9EC3E.n avigon-54
Best by has been selling a unit for 179.00 and includes the lifetme traffic service. Since the RDS is in most of the FM modules now it would be great if this could be implemented into the Carpc and Iguidance.
The traffic integration should be of importance to all of the CarPc community.

Even if its not fully integrated, just having the ability to click a traffic button and have it show you a local map based on your gps would be great. i realize that overlaying that information into ig or any other program will be tough, and having it re-route. I hope someone is still working on it too.

yes they change there design every 6 months or so .. so actually pulling the map is always gonna be a temporary thing. Bottom line is they want you to go to there site to look at there ads while you look at traffic. Hard to get around that.
