Audio choppy when GPS loaded

Hello.

I just installed an iGPS-500 usb GPS module in my carpc. I am running Centrafuse. Before...my audio was perfect. Now, when the GPS screen is loaded, the audio from my music gets choppy every few seconds. Its sort of like a CD skipping, but less severe. The audio problems seem to be more frequent when I am using the audio navigation with the lady telling me the directions to go. Even when the lady is not speaking, there is choppyness. However, even when no destination is inputted into Centrafuse, there is still audio choppyness, although less frequent.

So does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? I am using the iGuidance plugin with Centrafuse. My carpc is a 550mhz P3 running XP with 256mb ram. My sound card is an Audigy SE.

Maybe you can customize iG to show fewer POI and zoom level.

Try setting the priority of CF to above normal or high and see if that helps. It did on my system. If this works look for a program called priority saver.

See I'm having a similar, but different problem.

I was using iG3 plug-in and my audio was perfect. BUT, after thinking about it, I wanted a more integrated solution and purchased CF XLE for the Nav (don't like how the iG-Plugin for CF cuts off the bottom of iG3's info bar)

I noticed the audio hiccups ONLY with CF's Destinator, never with iG3. I ran them both at separate times to confirm this.

My system is plenty fast and plenty of RAM, but only hiccups with Destinator running (which is odd, because the interface is so very simplistic in comparison).

Now, I've gone back with iG3 until I can figure out my issue further. I will try the priority suggestion, that's a good one.

I fixed my problem. I downgraded to an older soundcard that I had laying around. Maybe that will help you.

Wish it would. I'm using the board's built-in sound. I've never had any playback issues in CF until I started using the built-in GPS.

I'm going to try the priority method.
