Prolific driver not loading after hibernate

What is the problem with the prolific driver not loading when the pc resume from hibernation. I have to go to device manager and do a "scan for hardware changes" before I get a respons from the GPS.

I don't have that issue wit my BU353 that uses the same Serial-USB chip.
It could be a faulty device, possibly.

Question

Having some similar problem... The device is correctly listed in COM/LPT devices list but after resuming from hibernation, my navigation app (either mapmonkey and garonav) cannot find the gps device.
Sometimes I need to disable /enable device to get it working, some other time simply cannot :-( Then I have to disconnect/reconnect USB cable and this is really frustrating because I have no visible connections and have to dismantle!!

I've recently downloaded some application to launch a program/command before hibernation and some other program/command after it's resumed.. but can't understand how it can be useful to solve my problems.. Please help!!!
