holux gps not recognizing

i had the holux gr 213 for quite some time now and its worked fine on my carpc for a long time without any issues. one day i decided to finally run the wires thru my cars correctly and try to hide as much as possible but it had nothing to do with the gps cuz its just a usb that i plug directly into my laptop in the trunk. after that, my laptop stopped recognizing it. strange cuz the light does come on and does blink to indicate that its working and a signal has been found. but still iguidance and gpsviewer fails to recognize it. it doesn't even show up in the device manager. anything im forgetting? i thought it was plug n play.

Hi.
I am having the exact same problem, however I just received mine and my laptop isn't recognizing it. Not even in Device Manager. I've looked online for quite a while now and still cant fix it.
PLEASE let me know if you get yours working.
Thanks

Yes i think !

Ask Google for PL2303 , It's a USB to Com Driver,

after install, plug your GPS, look for your com ports, the good one is called prolifix.

Apply settings to Iguidance or other.

Remember factory settings for an holux 213 is NMEA and 38400 Bauds.
