Are others experiencing this, too?
from main menu 1/3 select "turn off navigation"
using the normal menus put in your destination.
go to the map
using the same 4 green symbols you can select the flag then point at where you will exit the carpark.
press menu
press set as departure point
press calculate route
when you are on the road, switch navigation back on.

I have installed PC Navigator 7, but I have a problem..
All citys and streets have very strange namnes. For example: Uuusala = Uppsala, Wokgolm = Stockholm and Harlstac = Karlstad.
I have tried to change language to both English and Swedish, but it still the same problem.
Does anyone know what's wrong?

Hi,
I've seen that problem before. Where did you get the software? Try a different copy.

I've just got hold of Navigator 7, in time for a road trip on saturday; Warsaw, Poland, to Canterbury, England! I've also managed to get it embedded into Roadrunner with the wonderful LSXVOID skin (v2) thanks to the help on this site, so it looks majestic.
AS clever as Mapmonkey was, it was just too unreliable for me at the rate Warsaw was developing, so I'm glad I've got some smooth-looking upgrade for my machine.
I'll let you know how it works out after Christmas

Well, 3500km, I gave Navigator 7 a thorough trial.
She fared admirably. Aside from not knowing the new motorways in Poland (we only have two as it is), I wouldn't have got to where I needed to be without her. The zoom controls, address entry system and POI were very good; intuitive, accesible and with a handy "recent routes" memory feature.
My complaints, however, are that there appear to be NO SOUND OPTIONS WHATSOEVER. Not only would she (Vicky, the slightly posh tart voice I had selected) tell me every command at 2000m, 1000m, 500m, 200m and at the event, but at full blaring volume with no volume control built in (just the standard Windows master fader, which means she's far louder than anything else on the same channel, like Winamp.) The GPS signal cutout warning needs a little tweaking - she'll blare out "GPS SIGNAL LOST" 4 seconds after entering a tunnel, rather than waiting 10secs like other packages in case it reaquires, and on a very long motorway drive with roadworks, her constant patronising tone can start to grate.
In comparison to my previous software option, the wonderful Mapmonkey version of Destinator 3, it was an excellent development, but it really needs more customisable features to be a big seller. It still feels a bit like a work-in-progress.

Grrrmachine, what do you see in the bottom-right corner of your screen? Isn't there a green button, which opens a volume control? I just reviewed the USA/Canada version of PC Navigator 7, and my version does have a way to control the sound volume.

Yeah, there's a volume control, which is basically a shortcut to the Windows Master Volume control. This means that if you have any music in the background, you have to configure that in balance with the deafeningly loud (in my system) level of Navigator's volumes - I have to have winamp cranked to full and then the master volume dropped to nearly zero in order to make it all sound balanced.
Also, how do you import data? I've done a drive with Netstumbler, and I'd LOVE to have the wifi locations as POI - is there any way of doing this in Navigator?

Importing Databases -
Update - Getting there! - If you have been unlucky enough to have read my earlier postings today - Now rejoice! - The solution is here...
<Copy> then <Run> - DiggerQt.exe from within the Installed Directory, not the Installation Directory it will tell you which other files you need to move over as well.
Viz.
dataDigger.dll - QtCore4.dll - QtGui4.dll - QtNetwork4.dll - QtSql4.dll
Follow the instruction to find and select your database <seems to be very flexible>
Save it <Run Import>
Re-Open Program and Either go to <FIND and NAVIGATE> then <IMPORTED DATA> or use the <I> option from the Map to <Find Nearest> and choose <IMPORTED DATA> then your own Named Set.
TIP - Use an icon which will scale well.
This works for Multiple sets of data.
[EDIT] - Still working on this - having some probs with importing SOME list details - will report back
If this is not clear please say and I will try to elucidate - This makes the Upgrade MORE than worthwhile...
BTW - These online Spulling Chuckers are GREAT!> can you spell embarr..Elucid...etc.>
BTW BTW - Why is this not made obvious by the providers, or did I miss something - Seems to me this is THE feature of the new release next of course to 'windowing'..

I installed Map Explorer as well as Navigator 7. POI's can easily be imported into Explorer.
May be I'm missing something but there doesn't seem to be a link between the two programmes. So I am at a loss for the reason for having Explorer in the first place.
Also the button for imported data does not work in Standard Edition. Does it work in
Professional ?

I think Explorer is just a re-vamped version of Navigator 4.
It has some extra functionality but probably for 'expert' use.
Try my suggestions above for importing into PC Navigator - this should bring the [Imported Data] button alive, but as mentioned above am still having probs with some imports.
Probably formats or spurious characters in the original DataBase will advise if I find more info.
Best
......
BTW - Great Cafe/Coffee Shop in Kirkwall - They were giving away free picture frames in the shop opposite when we visited - We stayed overnight on top of the hill overlooking Scapa Flow - Magnificent Views.
