Update on Importing Data into PCN 7.

I was getting a crash on:

Find and Navigate / Imported Data / <Left Click> on 'Data List Title'

By trial and error have discovered that the Prog. does not like:

[ ’ ] but will accept [ ' ] as part of the fields in the data.

Will report any further findings, but so far looks very promising.

Best

.....

BTW - If we wanted to publish a list of Keyboard Entries which are recognized, how can we set it up in the Forum so that new ones can be added.

e.g. CTRL M = Menu from Map Screen - Page Up/Down for Zoom In/Out - Arrow Keys for N/S/W/E - Tab and Arrow Keys to Navigate Menus.... - In Some Menus <Return> = Enter in others <Right Arrow> = Enter

OR - in the words of Peggy Lee's Song - Is that all there is?

Also, how do you import data? I've done a drive with Netstumbler, and I'd LOVE to have the wifi locations as POI - is there any way of doing this in Navigator?

Yes it would be much better if you had the sound option of switching it to use an independant vol control or on the wave line instead of the master volume.
I love the program but for these reasons i am reluctant to use it very often unless i really dont know my way somewhere!

Found an interesting tread over at The Land Rover Forum about speedcam import in PC Nav 7:
http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?sh...art=0&p=247560
Has anybody here tried that?
And did it work?

@TRTR: I will check for swedish tonight and post back.

It has swedish text but you will have to do with either danish or norwegian voice.

I use PGPSW regularly. No problems. You have to rename the files to just cat999.mef and cat999.ttr. Works very well

Does anyone know of a fix or if the option is available in PC Nav 8, where you can set it to use the WAVE volume line rather than the master?

I've imported a speed camera database but when I try to activate the warnings I get this.

"The object data file for scout functions is missing. Please check its installation"

Can anyone tell me what this means and how I sort this out?

Thanks.

Scout function

Hi GTO,

How did you import the database? I assume you imported a csv database file into exel saved the resulting xls file and then used the "getmef.exe" utility to produce a mef file.
The mef file must be named cat999.mef and copied to the europe_ta folder.

I can't get getmef.exe to work properly because after loading the .xls file the 2 dropdown boxes where you select Lat & Long are blank.

I used POI Converter to convert a TomTom .ov2 file into a .csv then DiggerQt.exe which produced the following files.

digger_config.xml
id.tm6
import.mef
import.ttr
tie_2_d2m.tth
tie_2_m2d.tth
uk_gatso_[default].png (image displayed on map)

All these files were put in the "Import" folder and imported.

I can see the gatso icons on the map fine but I keep getting this object data message when I try to activate the warnings.

[EDIT]
OK forget that.
I followed your advice, renamed import.mef to cat999.mef then put it in the europe_ta folder and all is well.

The only thing that bugs me about Nav7 is that you have to be in nav mode to get the warnings.
With other GPS software like Sygic you can leave it running in the background and still get the warnings.
