PC Navigator 7 - Europe
I have opened this thread so that we can effectively close the long running "PC navigator 6" thread.
link to company website:
http://directions.ltd.uk/laptop-navigation/
In short-
PC navigator 7 - Europe standard edition now supports being windowed, however you need to pass it some parameters, DOPEHEAD has written an executable to do this

on the first four lines of the file, so a setting would ex. be :
0
50
800
550
Which would start pcnav 50 pixels down, and with the size of 800x550, fits on the destinator_gps.skin with a topbar of 50 pixels.
If no settings.ini is found it will use the exact parameters above instead.
Then you can just run startpcnav.exe in your button code in RR.
Link : http://www.csaforum.dk/pcnav.zip
the other intergration option that is still lacking is the ability to mute winamp when the satnav speaks. a solution to this was suggested by SERFIO

one small niggle is when running in a small window the icons/ fonts are not always resized, so for instance when you do a search for your GPS com port, the details of the com port are printed below the bottom of the screen. I will report this in today and see if we get a patch.

ok, 1st thing we need to find is whether we need the professional or the standard,do both versions allow resizing to be embedded in rr?

i have the standard, and this allows me to resize (as stated above )
dopehead has the proffesional which also does
AFAIK - the difference between the standard and the proffesional is that the proffesional allows you to write your own active X front end, but as no doubt dopehead will elaborate on, this is a long arduous task.

oh yes, for it to work in RR, using the BMV2 skin, i needed to select the GPS product as external, and add a clear window (a clip) with the same size window as you are running pcnav. this allows you to see the programme through the skin.

they've just come back to me, and actually when i use it in standalone mode everything looks ok, it is only when i run it through RR does in cut the bottom off. I will investigate more tonight (when i'm not at work)

Also, it would be nice to know if there are more keyboard shortcuts than the one i found in the new version 7 (sse old thread), maybe ogradka who initially put up the link for the patch could tell us ?
Oh, and this is the patch for Pcnav7 to get windowed support. http://static.mapfactor.com/files/pc...h-7_1_13-1.exe

When embedding in RR what functions have you managed to work with buttons (if any) like the ones you get in FreeDrive so far?

The keycodes i have found are located in the file C:\Program Files\Navigator7\PC_Navigator\config\tyrael\defaul t_settings.xml
They are not really that much use, everything in there can be done in the GUI on the first screen i believe. But maybe some more keycode action are available, we should ask directions.

So do i, but some of the features would be nice to have available without having to go into the menu system, like 2D/3D view.

OK Guys, What am I doing wrong?
Navigator 7 Europe (Standard) arrived and was installed yesterday. My front end is iCT. I'm using Dopehead's little programme and installed it in the same directory as Nav 7. I have to run any navigation software as an external programme. No problems with that.
When I open the navigation window I now get Dopehead's programme and starting at X0/Y50 where it should, but the screen stays blank apart from a line at the bottom giving me my altitude and speed.
If I now close that window I see the map behind it which has now moved up slightly so that I can see the part of the front end behind that at top and bottom.
Any ideas ? Thanks
