gps USB or SERIAL?

What is better, a USB gps, or SERIAL gps??

The Bu-353 USB stop work some times after hibernation, i need restart my pc for get the correct sats again. What about serial gps? is better?

i think the usb is better, but not sure, usb is a better and newer technic

I've been using the BU-353 for years and it has never not come out of hibernation. Make sure it's plugged into a USB port on the computer rather than a hub.

Side note usb signal looses strength the longer the wire, serial does not suffer as much from this. Also most GPS seem to work better plugged into a primary (on the MB) slot inorder to get full power usage.

For anything else, USB will be easier. For GPS with current update rate, serial is much better. With serial, no suffering from hibernation problem, no additional driver needed. The only draw back of serial is you have to find a way to power the device as most of them isnt' getting power from serial port.
Current USB do need be bridge/convert to serial for 3rd party apps and that what the driver is doing.

On some industrial motherboards, the serial port has its own powerline, sometimes you can even choose if you want it to be 12v or 5v
