Navigation software that runs SMOOTH?
I have iGuidance. Have been running it for awhile now. I'm now onto version 4. My problem with it is this: I had a MIO C310x handheld GPS unit, and LOVED how smooth the transition turns were. It always seemed to be continually updating, as iGuidance has a second delay or so.
My question: Is there software out there that will work SIMILAR to the Mio C310x software, or the AVIC software? I don't mind cost.

iGuidance updates at 1Hz as all other non-proprietary software does. \
You can get 5Hz receivers and that will help. I think iGuidance is very smooth as long as your receiver sends a good signal. iGuidance is as smooth as all the Garmin units (standalone car nav), and better than the Garmin handheld.

I have the BU-353 running @ 4800. That's what the instruction manual said to run it at, as it's the "perfect" setting for that receiver. Is that correct? or am I missing something?

With the BU-353 and SiRFDemo you can adjust the number of times per second that the reciever sends each signal. Youll have to figure out which strings iG uses to update your location, and I think you can go to 1/10 sec (10 hz) for each message. Just keep in mind you can only shove so much information thru at 4800 bps. You can search for the nmea sentences and play around with them. I poked them with a stick for a while and removed alot of the sentences that I didnt think were used. I dont know how much of a diffrence you will see, but it does seem to make things a bit smoother in MS Streets and RR.

I have a Mio 310x with Miomap 3.2 (older version, not 2007). How does Iguidance 3.0 or 4.0 work on it compared to Miomap?
Thank you.

I was referring to the display of Mio's Mapping software. How the transition from corner to corner is very smooth and no hiccups. You can't run iGuidance on that handheld (even though you CAN run other Windows CE programs on it.. But, we're talking about iG and the BU-353.. Ha ha..
Anyways, So, I guess I'll start messing around with that demo then! do I need to be driving to mess with it?

No, you can mess with it, drive around a bit... see if thats what you want, and adjust it.
The way to access it is connecting to the gps, switch to SiRF protocal, then switch back to NMEA. You will see the refresh rates for each type of line and you can adjust it.

iGuidance will run on the Mio c310x. Many people are doing it now and I will be shortly. Read
http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/t...TOPIC_ID=72645
and do some searching in gpspassion for procedures.
Funny, iGuidance locked up in an endless "make U turn" loop this weekend at coords 43.0292 N - 77.43947 W. We had to ignore it and go straight for a mile (of course in the wrong direction) until it started working correctly again.
