BU-353 dead?

I've got a BU-353. And recently it just stopped picking up satellites. I checked the signals, and it's only getting 2 satellites at <30% strength. I once got 3, but it would cut in and out.

I haven't moved the receiver, I haven't done anything. It just looks like it's not able to get a good signal anymore. I used to get 8+ satellites no problem. It worked flawlessly. But all of a sudden, it just decided to give up and it leaves me wondering what could have happened.

Is there any way to fix this short of buying a new receiver? I haven't tried to put it on another computer. That would involve taking out of the car, which would be a lot of work. I'd take it out if there was a way to fix it. Maybe something is loose within the unit? I've tried searching and I can't find anyone with the same issue.

Thanks for reading. Any help would be appreciated.

hi check baud rate...
If I in Centrafuse set SIRF mode then I get only 3 satelites and wrong position. If I set it TO NMEA(9600bps) work normaly with cca. 9 locked satelites

Depending how old it is and how much temperature swing you have had recently, it could have just died. It is an option. If the baud rate is correct, then i vote for dead.

before deeming it cooked i would wait a few days to make sure the problem doesnt "cure" itself. I remember a time when i had signal for one day then poof it was gone for a few days then came back. I chalked it up to some sort of interference in the satelite field because it never happened again.

I've tried 4800 and 9600 bps. I get nothing at 9600. Its been about 3-4 days now. I'm thinking cooked. Signals were better this morning. I was getting 6-7 sats but all at <40% signal

Worst part is just having to run the wire for this thing again.

Thanks for all the input.
